Star of The Descendants Shailene Woodley has made some beautiful red carpet choices during the last few months, never shying away from a tough silhouette or difficult trend.
But did she take it too far with this Valentino Couture dress? With its high neck, long sleeves and button detail, it has a 1970s feel to it (in fact add a skullcap veil and you have my mother's wedding dress!) and its beauty is in its simplicity; modern detailing, beautiful fabric and faultless construction.
But at only 20 years old, Shailene is able to pull off the prettiest and softest gowns available...it seems odd she chose something so severe and covered up.
But we love a celeb who takes a risk, and this is definitely not the kind of dress you'd expect from a young starlet, so we applaud her for that. We'd rather this than some quality street wrapper satin and tulle confection that swallows her up!.
